Billie’s song will be the sixth single to be released from the soundtrack after Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s Barbie World, Charlie XCX’s Speed Drive, Dua Lipa’s Dance the Night, Karol G’s Watati and PinkPantheress’ Angel.

Excitement: Billie Eilish is the latest musician to join the star-studded lineup on the soundtrack for the upcoming Barbie movie

The Barbie soundtrack is due out on July 21 – the same day as the movie’s theatrical release.

Ronson, 47, has worked with some of the biggest names in music over the years and he jumped at the chance to oversee Barbie: The Album.

‘Those two make some of my favorite films,’ he told Time about co-writers Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach

‘I thought, “Even if I don’t get this gig, I know this is going to be my favorite movie next year.”’

He and Gerwig, 39, hit it off right away. ‘I became the Robin to her Batman,’ he said.

Gerwig sent Ronson a list of music she loves, which he called ‘guilty pleasures’ and ‘Peloton pop.’

And along the way, he found out many of the musicians were drawn to the soundtrack because of their own histories with Barbie – including Eilish.

‘One of the artists is obviously one of the f***ing greatest living artists around but also had a very personal, idiosyncratic tie to Barbie as well,’ he teased of Eilish’s involvement.

‘Karol G was instantly telling us how much Barbie meant to her,’ Ronson explained.
