Jessica Simpson, 42, DENIES using Ozempic as she credits sobriety for slim body

Jessica Simpson has delivered a wild interview as she – refreshingly – has once again not held back when it comes to her personal life.

The list of her headline making comments to Bustle magazine is long.

The slim beauty denied she used Ozempic to get thin. She said she lost 100lbs all on her own after welcoming her third child with husband Eric Johnson.

The former reality TV star insisted that it is simply ‘willpower’ and shunning alcohol that has resulted in her thin and toned figure.

Also in her Bustle interview, the 42-year-old Dukes Of Hazzard actress seemed to take a swipe at ex-husband Nick Lachey, whom she did her TV show Newlweds with.

And she also laughed – but did not deny – that Mark Wahlberg was the big ‘movie star’ that treated her like a ‘call girl.’

Lastly, the crooner – whose sister is actress Ashlee Simpson – also revealed that she is so low on cash these days after buying back her company, Jessica Simpson Collection, that she has had to borrow money from her mother Tina.

Jessica looked like a pinup in her photo shoot by Daniella Midenge.

She showed off her slender frame in several silky outfits as she wore her white blonde hair down.

But the real draw of the feature was her frankness during her interview with Mickey Rapkin.

As far as the weight loss drug Ozempic is concerned, she made it very clear she is not on it.

‘Oh Lord. I mean, it is not’ — Ozempic, she means — ‘it’s willpower. I’m like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that’s when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can’t do it.’

She has been every size from 0 to 12 (which was when she was pregnant).

‘I am fortunate to have been every size,’ she said. ‘For [my] brand, understanding the women [who buy our products], and for my psyche.’

People making comments about her looks ‘hurts,’ she told the outlet.

‘Am I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I’m too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me. It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt,’ she said.

The former reality star admitted in 2019 that she lost 100lbs nearly six months after giving birth to her third daughter, Birdie.

She followed a meal plan and walked 14,000 steps per day with help from celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak.

‘6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),’ she wrote on Instagram when revealing her weight loss.

Simpson told Hoda Kotb during an appearance on the Today Show in 2021 that she never weighs herself anymore, doesn’t own a scale and follows her intuition with how she feels when picking out her clothes. ‘I have no idea how much I weigh,’ she said. ‘Like, I just want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up.’

The star also told Bustle she thinks it is interesting that she stays in the public eye even though she has not worked on music or acted recently.

‘It boggles my mind that I’ve stayed relevant and that people are curious,’ she said, ‘because I have not entertained. I have not entertained at all,’ she also shared.

She also recounted a story about how she went to the ER twice – once for a twisted colon and another time, just days later, for constipation. ‘I don’t know if it was the travel or the stress,’ she said.

The songbird had traveled from her home to Nashville three times in a month. She also told Bustle she may relocated to the town to rework her music career.

‘I’m doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage. And they’ve never seen me do this,’ she said.

‘This’ means perform.

Kim’s daughter North goes to school with Jessica’s daughter Maxwell.

She said in the interview that her reality TV show Newlyweds is what earned her loyal fan base.

It was a hard show to film as her marriage to Nick Lachey was having trouble; often they fought and he called her a ‘spoiled brat.’

In her tell-all book from 2020, Open Book, she revealed she is not friends with Nick.

Newlyweds has won a new audience with young people who have defended Jessica on TikTok.

But when the show first aired, Nick was the hero. ‘It’s amazing what publicity can do,’ Jessica told Bustle, seemingly shading her former husband.

Her kids Maxwell, age 11, Ace, age 10, and 4-year-old Birdie Mae have seen the show,

‘I’m still that person,’ Jessica said. ‘Honestly, if Eric told me I had to do all the laundry, I would still throw it over the banister and throw a hissy fit.’

Mark Wahlberg’s name has been floated around on social media. She laughs at the name but would not confirm.

She also touched on her trouble with alcohol which she gave up in 2017.

‘It dumbed down my creativity,’ she says. It made me more insecure. When people say it gives you liquid courage, it absolutely does not. It just makes me hold back instead of letting go.

‘I stopped drinking because I was like, I can’t even make a dream board,’ she said. ‘For me to see it, I have to un-numb and go through therapy and unlock the light because it’s not there right now. Open Book opened me up to my child self, and I went back to all those journals and I’m reading my dream boards and everything started unfolding beautifully to where alcohol was just — I never thought about it again.’

Jessica also let on she has a new docuseries with some of the people she worked on Newlyweds with.

‘We’re about to start shopping it around,’ she shared.

As far as her financial situation, it is not ideal.

She bought back her company Jessica Simpson Collection in 2021 for over $50million, which has caused strain.

She told Bustle that she recently asked to borrow money from her mom Tina, who suggested she stop spending so much. Jessica also joked that she may have to sell her jewelry to fund her lifestyle.

But her brand seems to be chugging alone nicely. She will launch a line of hair care products in 2024, which will be her own product.

‘One of the great things about owning your own business is that you can choose categories like hair care and skin care and makeup. And water,’ said her mom Tina, giving a hint of what’s to come.
