Strictly’s Brendan Cole reveals he and his family will be sleeping in a TENT

Strictly’s Brendan Cole reveals he and his family will be sleeping in a TENT as they wait for renovations on their Mallorca home to finish

Brendan Cole has revealed he and his family will be sleeping in tents as they wait for renovations on their home in Mallorca to be completed.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 47, has purchased a property in Spain and will be moving to Mallorca this summer with his wife Zoe and their children Aurelia, ten, and Dante, four.

Speaking to The Sun, Brendan told how the family will be ‘glamping’ in the garden until the house is ready for them to move in.

He said: ‘I’ve bought many houses over the years and I have always had the intention to refurbish them but have never gotten around to it and I have sold them and finally, we’re doing a proper refurb on our house in Mallorca.

‘Because we’re doing the renovation we actually can’t live in the house so the plan is to actually be in a glamping tent on the property which is quite nice although if it gets too hot, which I fear it might be, we may well just come back.

‘We have stayed in it from time to time with the kids and, we had a moment of gin madness probably three or four months ago now when, over a couple of trips to Mallorca, we took this massive bell tent over with us.’

Brendan revealed the family have already stayed in a tent on another occasion when the flat they were due to rent in the Spanish city ended up being given to someone else.

The dancer told how the family stayed in it for ‘several weeks’ back in April but are prepared to return to the UK this time around if it gets too hot in the summer.

Brendan and Zoe met back in 2008 and married two years later in Nether Winchendon House in Buckinghamshire.

Brendan left his role on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2018 when his contract with the show was not renewed.

He previously admitted to MailOnline that he felt the BBC show ‘only wanted to show one side’ of him.

While taking part in Dancing On Ice, he said: ‘Strictly only wanted to show one side to me.

‘And they really pushed that side of me. There was very much a narrative that the show went with for 15 series. And it was tiring because it was actually not me.

‘As you can see I like a bit of fun. I muck around a lot and that wasn’t shown very often and I think it has been shown more on this show.

‘And I am very pleased for the way it has been for all of, we have been shown in really lovely lights which we are. And it has been a really great experience.’

New Zealand-born Brendan began as a dancer with the original Strictly cast in 2003. He was the first-ever professional to win the Glitterball trophy with Natasha Kaplinsky and was there for 15 years afterwards.
