Da Brat is a mom at 49! Rapper welcomes a baby boy with wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart

Da Brat gave birth to her first child, a son she and wife Jesseca ‘Judy’ Harris-Dupart named True Legend.

The 49-year-old music artist – who shared why the couple used a non-black sperm donor – welcomed the baby boy at 8:30pm in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday evening.

The infant weighed 7lbs and 8oz at the time of his birth and is 20in long, according to a document shared on Instagram.

‘I can’t BELIEVE he came out of me!’ the hitmaker shared with People.

The new mom gushed, ‘Feels like a dream. He’s PERFECT in every way.’

Da Brat, real name Shawntae Harris-Dupart, said she’s feeling ‘very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy.’

Reflecting, she added, ‘This journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined.’

Jesseca took to Instagram on Friday to share video content leading up to True’s birth this week.

Sharing the less than one-day-old baby’s Instagram handle, she wrote in the caption, ‘True Legend Harris-Dupart @truelegendhd was born 7/6/23 at 8:30pm coming in at 7lbs 8oz , 20inches long and as PERFECT as ever.’

Engaging her 2.7 million fans, the note continued, ‘We are overwhelmed with love.’

And Da Brat reposted the video in her Instagram Stories, adding, ‘Yesterday was perfect,’ with three blue heart emojis.

The ladies tied the knot last year on February 22, with the rapper later getting the date tattooed on her back.

About pregnancy and childbirth, Da Brat admitted that she was hesitant at first.

‘I was like, “Nothing’s gonna come out of me!” she told People back in February.

‘It’s been quite a journey,’ she explained at the time. ‘There’s a lot of stuff we learned about women over the age of 40.’

The bundle of joy comes after the couple suffered a devastating miscarriage after announcing in January 2022 that they were expecting.

‘I had never been so excited about something that I didn’t even know I wanted,’ Da Brat shared with the publication.

‘I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me,’ she lamented.

The duo decided to use an anonymous sperm donor along with Jesseca’s egg to conceive the child via IVF.

‘Luckily, we still had quite a few of her eggs left,’ the musician said about trying again after their setback.

Before welcoming True Legend with her wife, Harris-Dupart was already a mother to three children from a previous relationship.

In March the couple learned the sex of their baby during a lavish gender reveal party.

The couple had a massive screen installed outdoors to inform them and their party guests that they were having a boy.

For the occasion, Da Brat cloaked her baby bump in a pink suit while rocking a fuchsia and blue mohawk.

The celebration came after the entertainer announced in February that she was pregnant.

Da Brat and her wife star in a reality television series on We TV called Brat Loves Judy.
