FBOY Island ‘Nice Guy’ Nick Brown dumped his girlfriend just days before he began filming and went on to win the show
FBOY Island was struck by a scandal after Nick Brown went on to be one of the winners of the show despite dumping his girlfriend just days before filming.
The self-confessed ‘Nice Guy’, 25, ended up with Molly O’Halloran in the explosive finale after confessing he hadn’t been in a relationship for two years.
However, it appears he dumped childcare worker Ruby Sharan before going on to date and split $50,000 with Molly, 26, reported The Daily Telegraph on Friday.
According to the publication, he dated the Sydney-based 21-year-old for more than nine months before he brutally ended it just days before he started filming.
‘I was casually seeing Ruby, she understood the situation. While I was seeing Ruby for a short period of time, it wasn’t a relationship, it was just casual,’ Nick insisted.

He added: ‘I am still a 25-year-old male, and we got along well, that was cool but she knew from the start I didn’t want a relationship.
‘I was going to be going overseas eventually to pursue my rugby career and that is still on the cards now. And she knew that I was going for this. That was what it was.’
Nevertheless, Nick went on a swanky holiday to Hamilton Island in January with Ruby and her entire family.
The self-confessed ‘Nice Guy’ said he’d been single for two years, but it was revealed he dumped his girlfriend of nine months Ruby Sharan, 21, (right) just days before he began filming
He then spent time with her from February 3 to 5 at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast for his birthday, which friends say Ruby shelled out for.
‘He was at Ruby’s 21st, came on holidays with the family to Hamilton Island in January and never left each other’s side,’ they said.
‘It was his birthday on Hamilton Island as well and Ruby took him to a dinner at some expensive restaurant and spent over $700 for it.’
Nick went on to be one of the winners of the show, ending up with Molly O’Halloran who he split the $50,000 prize money with
Nick began filming for the Binge series, hosted by Abbie Chatfield, in mid-February and Molly chose him over ‘FBoy’ Vernon Lyon who also broke up with his girlfriend to go on the show.
FBOY Island saw 24 men vying for the affections of three women, the catch being that half were ‘Nice Guys’ looking for love and the other ‘FBoys’ just after the money.
Molly technically made the correct choice picking Nick, who claimed to be a ‘Nice Guy’, and was able to split the prize money with him as they went on to date.
Ziara Rae Freeny also found love with hunky Izaya Leota, while Sophie Blackley wrongly chose ‘FBoy’ Joshy Allen who took all the prize money and ran.
