Carlos Alcaraz beats Nicolas Jarry to book his place in Wimbledon’s last 16 – winning in four sets after a gruelling four-hour battle on Centre Court
Carlos Alcaraz triumphed over World No 27 Nicolas Jarry this afternoon to advance to the round of 16 at Wimbledon 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3, 7-5.
But it didn’t come easily, the Chilean put up a real fight and managed to win the second set but ultimately it wasn’t enough to overcome the tricky Spaniard.
Jarry played the match of his life as he forced the World No 1 into four hours of play time on centre court.
Alcaraz will now face either Matteo Berrettini or Alexander Zverev in the next round.
