Older female Aussies are defending Jonah Hill claiming the actor was simply ‘stating boundaries’ after his ex-girlfriend blasted him for his ‘controlling’ text messages.
Sarah Brady shared private messages allegedly sent by the 39-year-old Superbad star on Instagram, which reveal arguments between the pair in 2021 when they were a couple.
The surf instructor branded Hill a ‘misogynist’ and ‘narcissist’ in her multi-tiered social media tirade on June 7 after sharing alleged texts sent by the actor which outline his parameters for a ‘romantic partnership’.
In a lengthy text message, apparently from Hill, lists the unacceptable behaviours from his then-girlfriend including ‘surfing with men’, ‘inappropriate friendships with men’ and ‘posting pictures of yourself in a bathing suit’.

Brady received overwhelming support from young women on social media however, some older Australian women defended Hill, claiming there was nothing wrong with the Hollywood actor’s text messages as he was simply outlining his boundaries.
‘Nothing he said was out of line though. He was stating his boundaries she didn’t like it so plays the victim card,’ one woman commented.
‘I’m failing to see the issue,’ another woman chimed. ‘He outlined the boundaries he’s willing to accept in a relationship/partner… the bitter ex needs to move on.’
‘I see nothing wrong with expressing boundaries on either side,’ a third wrote.
Others claimed Brady sharing the private messages on social media was in fact abusive.
‘Oh God, nothing abusive about those messages. The fact that she’s leaking private msgs is worse than what was said in the msg. She clearly has issues with boundaries,’ one woman wrote.
‘The only abuse I see here is this ‘girl’ posting private message and making it public! That’s abuse of HIS privacy,’ another woman commented.
‘It is so wrong to publicly blast someone like this. She could potentially affect his career and legacy… just because he’s an insecure d**khead? Just leave the man alone,’ a third wrote.
A fourth woman added: ‘I wouldn’t like to be told this by a partner, is it abusive though? I don’t feel it is. Pretty close to the time he and the new fiancé had a baby in June so maybe spur grapes? Just seems a stretch for me.’
The rollout of damning statements against the movie producer comes less than one month after news broke Hill welcomed a baby with girlfriend Olivia Millar.
Brady began a series of Instagram Stories with screenshots of alleged texts from Hill with the caption ‘F**k it’.
The lengthy initial text apparently from Hill included a list of unacceptable behaviors from Sarah if they were to be together romantically.
The new dad allegedly stated that if Sarah ‘needed’ to ‘model,’ ‘post sexual pictures,’ or maintain friendships with women who were part of her ‘wild recent past’ then he was ‘not the right partner’ for her.
In another post of his alleged messages, Brady claimed that Hill only wanted her to socialise with friends whom he had ‘personally approved.’
The entertainer, whose documentary Stutz came out on Netflix last year, added, ‘If these things bring you to a place of happiness I support it and there will be no hard feelings. These are my boundaries for romantic partnership.’
He then clarified, ‘My boundaries with you based on the ways these actions have hurt our trust.’
Brady wrote on top of the image: ‘see the misuse of the term boundaries?’
Brady wrote to her nearly 80,000 followers, the posts are a ‘warning to all girls’ and urged any woman to give her a call if they are experiencing a similar situation.
‘If your partner is talking to you like this, make an exit plan,’ she captioned a screenshot that appeared to show Hill complaining about social media photos featuring her ‘a** in a thong.’

Brady alleged that while dating Jonah, he had to ‘personally approve’ her friends
The messages continued with Brady noting she had deleted some of the supposedly offending photos.
However, the Wolf of Wall Street star appeared to tell her it was a ‘good start’ but that she did not ‘seem to get’ his point.
‘But it’s not my place to teach you. I’ve made my boundaries clear,’ he allegedly wrote. ‘You refuse to let go of some of them and you’ve made that clear and I hope it makes you happy.’
Brady maintained that her ex-boyfriend’s critiques were made in an attempt to control her.
She explained that she agreed with his requests in an attempt to keep him from experiencing ‘crippling anxiety.’
Brady explained she was sharing the emotional abuse she suffered while dating Hill because keeping it to herself was causing damage to her mental health.
‘It’s been a year of healing & growth with the help of loved ones and doctors to get back to living my life without guilt, shame and self-judgment for things as small as surfing in a swimsuit rather than a more conservative wetsuit,’ Brady wrote.
‘And I’m sure there’s still much more healing from this abuse ahead of me.’
The former duo went public with their romance in August 2021 after Hill approached her online and the pair developed a relationship.
She also explained she used to take the ‘blame’ for Hill’s actions when they would speak with their therapist.
In part of her tirade against her ex, the athlete noted, ‘I hope my ex has a daughter, maybe she’ll turn him into a real feminist.
‘Because the fact that he calls himself a feminist now is laughable. … If I could have one wish for him it would be that he is surrounded by feminist men who can hold him accountable to grow in the ways he has expressed he wants to.’
The law student went on to say, ‘I think fame can put people in an echo chamber of viewpoints, which can enable emotionally abusive behaviour.’

In other posts, Brady urged her followers to boycott Hill’s documentary ‘Stutz’ which is about his relationship with his therapist.
One included a screenshot of text saying it ‘is never appropriate for a therapist to speak about themselves at length.’
In June, it was revealed that Hill had welcomed his first child with his current girlfriend Olivia.
Details about the child, including the birth date, were not revealed, but his rep confirmed she gave birth.
