Kai Havertz is hoping to make his first appearance for Arsenal this week.
The Gunners arrived in Germany on Sunday for a pre-season training camp and are scheduled to take on Nurnberg on Thursday.
Havertz is part of the 30-man squad that will be preparing for the new season at Adidas’ headquarters in Herzogenaurach.
Arsenal completed the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea for a £65million fee last month.
The German became Mikel Arteta’s first signing of the summer as the Spaniard looks to push on after the Gunners’ second place finish last season.

Havertz and the other players who were involved in international last month only returned for pre-season on Saturday.
They will be put through their paces this week before a decision will be made on whether they can take part in Thursday’s friendly.
The priority is for the players to be ready to feature in the club’s tour of the USA, which they leave for on Sunday.

Arteta is thought to think Havertz’s new role as a No 8 will suit his preferred 3-2-5 attacking shape, which is reminiscent of how he was at times used during his blistering spell at Bayer Leverkusen.
