Married At First Sight’s Mel Schilling lands surprise new TV gig in the UK: ‘It was a bucket list moment!’
Married At First Sight’s Mel Schilling has made a name for herself in the UK after she relocated abroad to star on the British version of the controversial dating show.
On Monday, the 51-year-old relationship expert couldn’t contain her excitement as she announced that she will appear on an upcoming celebrity edition of The Weakest Link.
The mother-of-one took to Instagram to share a few sneak peeks from the episode taping.
In a photo from filming, Schilling was dressed as the character Elsa from the hit movie Frozen.
She explained that she was in costume because the episode of The Weakest Link that she filmed is actually a Christmas special and will air in December.

‘Christmas came early in Glasgow today! Bucket list moment ticked,’ she posted on Instagram.
‘I got to join a rowdy bunch of celebrities as we battled our way through trivia, maths, geography, politics, and even Australian pop culture in the quest to NOT be the WEAKEST LINK,’ she wrote.
Schilling revealed that her husband, Gareth Brisbane, laid down a humorous challenge before she stepped on set.
‘My challenge was to avoid being the first voted off (in fact, my hubby told me directly I’d be facing divorce if this was the case) … so what happened? Well, this is the CHRISTMAS SPECIAL so you’ll have to wait until December to find out.’

The MAFS star shared some highlights from the shoot, which included ‘grooving to 70s disco tracks in the makeup room with one of my pop idols from the 70s… the one and only @coleen_nolan’.
Schilling will be going head-to-head with The One Show’s Alex Jones, who she described as ‘one of the smartest and most fabulous women on TV’.
But it wasn’t all about the competition, as the Aussie-born love guru admitted to ‘bursting into inappropriate fits of laughter’ at comedian Romesh Ranganathan’s gags.
Mel will soon return to Australia to film the eleventh season of the dating show alongside John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla, currently in pre-production.
