Camilla’s favourite ‘bunion-busting’ shoes march on! Now the Queen of Sweden has been spotted wearing them…
- Queen Camilla is known to have more than a dozen pairs of Sole Bliss shoes
- She seems to be spreading the word after designer brands left her in ‘agony’
SHE has already recommended her bunion-busting shoes to a trio of Dames.
Now Queen Camilla appears to have introduced a fellow queen, Silvia of Sweden, to her favourite brand of footwear.
While Camilla has more than a dozen pairs of Sole Bliss shoes in her closet, Silvia first wore her £179 Kelly blush suede heels with the matching £139 bag to attend a service to mark the 900th anniversary of Lund Cathedral.
Camilla, 75, was once known for her love of Chanel court shoes, their classic intertwining CC logos symbolising the longevity of her relationship with Prince Charles.
Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia attend a service to mark Lund Cathedral’s 900th anniversary. The occasion also marked Queen Silvia’s first public outing in ‘bunion-busting’ shoes

But she has since revealed that the was often ‘screaming in agony at the end of the day’ and desperate to kick her heels off ‘at every opportunity’.
On the eve of her 70th birthday, she finally admitted that she could no longer wear heels higher than two inches. ‘That’s just one thing I have to accept,’ she said. ‘I’ve gone down to two inches – can’t do any more.’
She then discovered Sole Bliss which make ‘comfortable, stylish shoes for bunions and wide feet’ and wore their £149 Ingrid Camel leather block heels at the Royal Cornwall Show 2018.
Since then, Camilla has worn them on nearly every Royal engagement including the week after the Queen’s death when she had a broken toe.
Dame Mary Berry, Dame Joanna Lumley, and Dame Judi Dench have all followed suit.
Dame Mary was recommended the brand by Camilla last summer and has bought the £159 Ingrid court shoes in fuchsia and blush suede with a glitter heel while her fellow chef Prue Leith swears by their £179 trainers.
Dame Joanna has their £189 Hero trainers in pale taupe croc while Dame Judi is believed to have worn her pale grey suede Ingrid shoes and matching bag to the Coronation.
‘I’ve started wearing new high heels recommended to me by the Duchess of Cornwall,’ Mary said recently. I used to buy all my shoes from Russell & Bromley but now I wear these. They’re very good value – at around £150.’
All of the shoes have cutting-edge technology to contour around the bunions, including an ingenious device to prevent pronation – the inward rolling of the feet.

Bunion-busting shoes have also been spotted on Dame Helen Mirren
Celebrity podiatrist Dr Brad Schaeffer, from TV show My Feet Are Killing Me said: ‘When it comes to wearing high heels, there are certain things you need to look out for in order to protect your feet.
‘Look for shoes with a wide toe-box, arch support, a supportive footbed and plenty of underfoot cushioning. These shoes tick all these boxes.’
