Naomi Osaka ‘gives birth to a baby girl in Los Angeles’

Tennis star Naomi Osaka has welcomed a baby girl in Los Angeles with her rapper boyfriend Cordae.

She previously announced she was pregnant in January and in June said she was expecting a girl.

PEOPLE quoted a source as saying: ‘They are doing well.’

At the start of the year, Osaka said she would be back for the Australian Open in 2024 while announcing that she was pregnant.

Osaka is a four-time major winner, winning twice in Australia and twice at the US Open in New York. 

Osaka has previously spoken openly of her struggles to handle the expectation around her in tennis.

After a shock defeat at the US Open to Leylah Fernandez in 2021, she tearfully said: ‘I honestly don’t know when I’m going to play my next tennis match.

‘I think I’m going to take a break from playing for a while. I feel like when I win I don’t feel happy, I feel relief. And when I lose I feel very sad. And I don’t think that’s normal.’
