Sydneysiders stunned after discovering a secret hidden inside what they thought was a ‘normal’ flower shop
- The Flower Shop bar hides inside a florist
- Foodies have been flocking to the hidden gem
Behind the doors of a stunning flower shop hides an incredible flora-filled ‘speakeasy’ bar serving unique cocktails and delicious tapas.
The Flower Shop sits on a busy street in Penrith, in Sydney’s greater west, and looks like a regular florist from the outside.
However, when customers step through a hidden door and down a dimly lit corridor, they find an enchanting Prohibition-themed eatery decked out with flowers and cherry blossoms.
The Flower Shop was designed as an homage to speakeasy bars that cropped up during the Prohibition era or, as the website puts it, ‘the smoke-filled luxurious underground from over a century ago’.
Foodies have been flocking to the magical bar not only for its dreamy décor but its selection of gourmet snacks and dishes that can be paired with specialty cocktails.

When guests reach the end of the arched hallway, they are greeted with a fantastical space decorated with a kaleidoscope of flowers and pink cherry blossoms that reach up and cover the ceiling.
Visitors can sit beneath the blooms while they indulge on a menu of tasty tapas, including truffles toasties, oysters, arancini balls and meat pies.
A selection of cocktails has been made to perfectly pair with some of the bar snacks.
The buttery lobster roll is complemented by the sorbet cocktail with passion fruit bubble and gin, while the Raspberry Garden dessert with chocolate mousse, hazelnut soil and freeze-dried raspberries pairs with the Smoked Rye Old Fashioned.
There is also live music entertainment, as well as a bottomless lunch with flowing margaritas, Aperol spritzes and espresso martinis.
