A man has been charged with the murder of a bikie associate who he allegedly gunned down in his car in broad daylight.

Marvin Oraiha, 24, was shot multiple times as he sat in the driveway of his parent’s home on Hertfordshire St in Elizabeth Hills, in Sydney’s southwest about 4pm on May 22.

On Wednesday, strike force detectives and officers from the Raptor Squad arrested a 22-year-old man at a home in Roselands and charged him with Mr Oraiha’s murder.

He was also charged with two counts of take and drive conveyance w/o consent of the owner, possess unauthorised pistol, and participate criminal group, contribute criminal activity.

The 22-year-old was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court on Thursday.

Before his death, Mr Oraiha is understood to have told his girlfriend to flee the car once he spotted the gunmen with witnesses reportedly hearing chilling screams and seeing a woman running from the car before Mr Oraiha was fatally shot.

First responders tried desperately to revive Mr Oraiha, who had a bullet wound to his head but he died at the scene.

Two cars were found burnt out nearby, including a white Audi A1, the vehicle believed to be used to confront Mr Oraiha.

Oraiha was a barber studying to become a project designer and had just said his goodbyes to his mother and sister as they returned from school pick-up when he was fatally shot.

Police have searched seven properties in Roselands, Edensor Park, Green Valley, Yagoona, Liverpool, Merrylands and Guildford as part of their investigation.

Police say they have located ammunition, an extendable baton, gel-blasters, a taser, cloned registration plates, substances believed to be prohibited drugs, clothing, over $3000 in cash, and mobile phones relevant to their investigation.

All items will undergo forensic examination.

Police at the time of the shooting described the incident as ‘brazen’.

‘I think it is as bad as it gets, it is an awful crime,’ Detective Acting Superintendent Virginia Gorman said.
