A TikTok star who is known for his viral hacks has once again stunned his followers after sharing the hidden use for the bottom of a soda can.

Jordan Howlett, 26, from California, has 10.4 million followers on TikTok, where he is known as @jordan_the_stallion8. He recently went viral after demonstrating how to open a soda can using another can.

The influencer stitched his video in response to user @knowledgesaurus, who had asked: ‘What is something you found out late in life that you should have known earlier but you just didn’t?’

‘So if you guys were to take a look at the bottom of a soda can, you see that it has this extra little circular ridge here,’ he said, tracing the ridge with his fingers.

Howlett explained that the bottom has to be circular to keep the carbonation and pressure intact, ensuring that the beverage stays fresh and bubbly.

However, he noted that the design has changed to include the ridge since the first canned soft drink was released in 1938.

‘You wanna know why?’ he asked. ‘Because these sodas are multi-purposeful, meaning that you can stack one on top of the other and use it to open the other soda.’

Howlett insisted it’s not a coincidence that soda cans were designed to ‘stack so perfectly on top of each other.’

The content creator concluded his demonstration by sharing examples of key moments when this hack will come in handy.

‘If you just got you just got your nails done [and] you don’t want to mess them up or it hurts your fingers to try to open them by themselves, just take a soda, put it on top, and open it with another soda,’ he said.

‘Try it out,’ he urged his followers.

Howlett’s video has been viewed 8.9 million times and has received more than 11,300 comments since it was posted on June 22.

‘I GASPED,’ one person responded.

‘My jaw is on the floor, sir,’ someone else added.

‘Yeah I’m trying this later at work,’ another shared. ‘I’m a flight attendant and hurt my fingers or chip my nails constantly cause of this.’

Howlett also received comments from viewers who knew about the hack.

‘Saves my nails every time!’ one person noted.

‘I think we’re the only people that know this secret now,’ someone else shared. ‘NEVER seen anybody do this in my life.’
