Everton will hold direct talks with £10m-rated Manchester United star Anthony Elanga…as Sean Dyche’s also close in on the signing of Ashley Young as a free agent

Everton will hold direct talks with Manchester United over a deal for £10million-rated Anthony Elanga, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has fallen out of favour with United’s coaching staff and made just five starts in the Premier League for the Red Devils last season.

And, failing to record a single goal from his 26 appearances in all competitions, it seems as though Elanga’s time at Old Trafford will soon be coming to an end.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Sweden international has been closely sought after by Everton – who plan to hold direct talks with United for the player.

The 21-year-old came through United’s academy and so any fee generated from a sale would be pure profit for the Red Devils.

Since making his first-team debut for United in 2020, the winger has made 55 appearances and recorded four goals and four assists.

It’s a relatively underwhelming return for the player who has just three goals from 39 outings in the Premier League.

Recently, the winger was pictured training with United outcast Mason Greenwood.

Last month, the youngster was linked with a move to German giants RB Leipzig, as they look to bolster their attacking talent.

The Toffees are also poised to make 38-year-old Ashley Young their first signing of the summer on a one year contract this week.

Mail Sport revealed that talks are at an advanced stage and a medical is scheduled for this week for the former Aston Villa and Manchester United utility player.

Everton travelled to Switzerland for pre-season training on Monday with defenders Mason Holgate and Vitaliy Mykolenko staying behind for treatment on injuries.

The former England right-back was released by Aston Villa following the expiration of his contract, after he joined the midlands club back in 2021 on a free transfer.
