Weekend Sunrise host Matt Doran ‘regretfully’ offloads art and furniture on Facebook

Sunrise’s Matt Doran ‘regretfully’ lists $11,500 artwork and designer furniture for a ‘quick’ sale on Facebook – after returning from ‘personal leave’ following mysterious disappearance

Weekend Sunrise host Matt Doran has ‘regretfully’ listed some of his prized possessions on Facebook, after offloading his apartment in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for $2million.

The presenter, 40, has listed a ‘beloved’ Vicki Lee artwork for $11,500 and a set of 1960s vinyl armchairs for $1,100 on a Bondi locals group.

Matt is also selling a black concrete Coco Republic Pot for $400 and a lounge for $500.

It comes after the TV presenter recently sold his Bellevue Hill apartment, where he lives with his wife Kendall Bora, for $2million just days after listing it on the market.

The two-bedroom property, which features an open-plan living and dining space, was redesigned by Sydney designer Dylan Farrell.

Matt recently returned to TV after his much-publicised disappearance from reporting duties while covering the bus crash near Singleton in the Hunter Valley last month.

The high-profile journalist was reported as missing after he did not show up for his 5.30am shift on June 13 to provide an update for the morning news on the tragedy that killed 10 wedding guests.

After a desperate police search, including at his Singleton hotel, officers found the star reporter a short time later in a local café.

Matt and his wife Kendall were believed to have been spending the long weekend at their $1.75million holiday home in Berowra Waters, north of Sydney, at the time of the bus crash, making him one of the first reporters on the scene early on June 12.

His live cross to Channel Seven’s studios was about 1km from the crash site.

Earlier, locals had seen Doran driving away from the home of newly married couple Mitchell Gaffney and Maddy Edsell, whose wedding was attended by those killed and injured in the tragedy.

One eyewitness remembers the surprising way he spoke to members of the Singleton Roosters football team, for whom several wedding guests played.

‘He seemed distracted when he was interviewing. He didn’t want to be there,’ the source told Daily Mail Australia.

When the star reporter failed to answer calls, texts and emails ahead of his scheduled appearance on Sunrise, a producer went to find him at his Singleton hotel, only for knocks on his door to go unanswered.

Insiders have suggested several factors could have contributed to his troubling behaviour, with one stating Doran may have struggled with the confronting nature of the wedding bus crash tragedy.

‘You do wonder if that kind of job might be too much for someone prone to emotional stress,’ a Seven insider told Daily Mail Australia at the time.

‘It would traumatise anybody, but especially someone who is particularly sensitive or struggling.’
