Kristin Davis reveals that she never wants to get married: ‘It’s not my thing’

Kristin Davis, 58, says she will NEVER get married and matrimony was never a ‘goal’ of hers unlike her SATC character Charlotte: ‘It’s not my thing’

Kristin Davis, 58, does not have any desire to get married.

Unlike her famous, wedding-obsessed, Sex And The City character Charlotte York Goldenblatt, the raven-haired beauty has never tied the knot — nor does she want to.

She revealed on Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin’s podcast Best Friend Energy that marriage was just not her ‘thing.’

‘I’m not married. I’ve never been married,’ the And Just Like That…star declared.  ‘It was never like a goal, let’s say,’ she added.

She has had some famous relationships, however. The star has romanced Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and Aaron Sorkin.

When asked how she managed to convincingly pull off Charlotte’s scenes (particularly when she was overanalyzing marriage rules) the And Just Like That…star said, ‘That took some acting, let me tell you. It really did.’

It was challenging for Kristin not to, ‘stress out,’ on days where she had to film, ‘a paragraph on a page of all… the rules and the marriage and the whatnot.’

‘I would just be like, “How am I going to do this and make it real and believable?”‘ the Colorado-born beauty recounted.

Although she is now happily married on And Just Like That…, Kristin’s character Charlotte was unequivocally the most marriage-focused woman out of the original quartet on Sex And The City.

Ironically, in the show, Charlotte’s failed marriage to Trey MacDougal (Kyle MacLachlan) led to her finding the love of her life, Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler).

In real life, Kristin has been romantically linked to A-list men.

However, she adopted her two children, Gemma Rose Davis and Wilson Davis, on her own.

The Couple’s Retreat star revealed on the podcast that while she may not be a wedding type of lady, she enjoyed filming Charlotte’s wedding to Trey.

‘I’m not really a wedding girl but, you know, Charlotte loved it so I loved it,’ Kristin recalled about filming Charlotte and Trey’s over the top nuptials.

Although she’s never shopped for a wedding dress in real life, the Sour Grapes star got the chance to pick out a wedding dress for Charlotte for the pivotal scenes.

‘I must have tried on 35 Vera Wang dresses,’ she recounted.

Joking that she, ‘[has] a stack of polaroids this big of me in wedding dresses,’ Kristen added that the gown that won out was a style she’d also personally never pick for herself.

‘The poof one won and it was just like such a weird thing because it’s not my thing at all,’ the Atomic Train star added.
