Demi Lovato STILL has such bad trouble with her vision and hearing after near-fatal 2018 overdose

Demi Lovato STILL has such trouble with her vision and hearing after near-fatal 2018 overdose that she is unable to drive a car she shares on Andy Cohen’s show

Demi Lovato was a guest on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show Radio Andy this week.

In the interview the 30-year-old music artist – who performed in Philadelphia this month – discussed her nearly-fatal 2018 overdose and how she still suffers from side effects.

The Texas-born superstar revealed the overdose left her with blind spots in her vision and hearing loss.

‘I have vision impairment and hearing impairment to this day,’ she explained to Cohen, 55.

Due to her vision impairment, Lovato is no longer able to drive, but she chooses to look at the experience in a positive light.

‘Well, I wouldn’t change my path because I don’t have any regrets,’ the actress expressed.

‘The closest thing that I get to a regret is when I overdosed and I wish somebody had told me, one, that I was beautiful, because I didn’t believe it.

‘And two, I wish that someone would’ve told me that if you just sit with the pain, it passes,’ Demi stated.

The musician, born Demetria Devonne Lovato, added that the long-term effects of her experience help keep her on a path of sobriety.

‘It’s a daily, constant reminder. Any time I look at something — like, I have blind spots in my vision when I look at your face,’ she told Andy.

‘And so it’s a constant reminder to stay on the right path, because I never want that to happen again,’ she admitted.

Demi, who has been dating fellow musician Jutes for the past year, talked about how her mental state has helped her see the positive side of the coin.

‘Luckily, in the mind state that I’m in now — you know, being sober, having a clear head — I just think in a more positive mind space and I’m not focusing on the shame at all because I know I have a lot of sympathy for where I was at at that time and the choices that I made.’

She added, ‘There’s no shame that comes with it because it was just a life lesson that I had to learn.’

Demi revealed the details of her overdose in her 2021 YouTube documentary Dancing With The Devil.

She had three strokes, a heart attack, and now has brain damage as a result of the incident.

‘I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes,’ said Lovato stoically during a confessional for the four-part doc.

As she continued to reflect on the life changing experience and its effects, Demi compared her resilience to that of a cat with nine lives.

‘I’ve had a lot of lives, like my cat. You know, I’m on my ninth life,’ she stressed. ‘I’m ready to get back to doing what I love, which is making music.’

And the entertainer has done just that. Last summer she released her eighth studio album Holy Fvck.
