James recalls the powerful punch and doesn’t remember the kicks. He managed to escape, bloodied and bruised.

Harrowing photos taken the day after the attack show James with black eyes and a busted lip. Michelle, his mother, felt sickened upon hearing about the incident. She expressed her devastation and anger, questioning why the perpetrators could get away with harming her 18-year-old son.

Greek media reports made unsubstantiated claims that James had assaulted a girl, but he denies it. James explains that the attack stemmed from him briefly dancing on a chair for a selfie. He was shocked by the bouncers’ readiness to resort to violence. James vows never to return to Zante and warns others about the potential dangers. Despite detailing the assault to medical staff, the official report attributes his injuries to a fall. Michelle expresses her fear of corruption and collusion in the situation.
