Perth Glory 2-6 West Ham: Jarrod Bowen scores two classy first-time goals as Hammers’ begin life after Declan Rice with comfortable win

West Ham begun life after Declan Rice with a comfortable 6-2 win over Pert Glory on their pre-season tour.

It was inspired by an excellent performance from Jarrod Bowen, who scored a brace and picked up an assist.

The visitors’ took the lead after just 70 seconds as Daniel Chesters fired a cross-cum shot past the Perth keeper.

Gianluca Scamacca doubled the lead from the penalty spot 20 minutes later after Pablo Fornals was brought down in the box following a classy flick from Scamacca.

While the Hammers did dominate for most of the first half, there were a few flashes of brilliance from Perth on the right wing, mainly through Adam Taggart.

He crossed a dangerous ball into the box late in the first half, which Luizao was unfortunate to turn into his own net.

Jarrod Bowen looked sharp after coming off the bench at half time, and restored the Hammers’ two goal lead with a classy first-time finish into the roof of the net after a nice ball in from Emerson.

They then swapped roles, with Bowen whipping in an excellent cross into the box which Emerson headed neatly past the keeper.

There was a bit of a scare when Perth made it 4-2 minutes later, but the visitors were back in control when Divin Mubama headed in a cross from the impressive Chesters.

Bowen completed his brace minutes later to complete a convincing win.

Fornals produced moments of quality throughout the game, and should have made it five late on when he fired a shot against the post.

The Hammers will remain in Perth for their next game, which will see them face London rivals Tottenham in another pre-season friendly.
