The all-out brawl erupted inside the Smart Street Mall in Mandurah, about an hour south of Perth, just before 11.30am on Saturday.

Police said the altercation was between two groups of men known to each other.

Witness Ellie Broughton, who works in the centre, alerted police to the attack and claimed she saw multiple weapons being used.

‘There was an axe, a knife and a hammer … they obviously set the dog on the guy and it just bit his arm I think,’ she told Nine News.

‘Mostly what I saw was just the guy with the arm, we were trying to get towels around it and get anything to stop it bleeding basically.’
