Getting pulled over by police after having a few beers can be a nerve-wracking experience – but this driver was nervous for an entirely different reason.
Adam Advincula was driving home with his girlfriend after downing a couple of beers at a friend’s soccer presentation.
… or at least that’s what he told his girlfriend of six years he was doing.
Instead the 27-year-old was planning an elaborate ruse, picking up his partner Jarrah Cootee after the supposed drinking session and taking her to the beach.

She was under the impression they would be walking the dogs.
Mr Advincula had actually spent the afternoon taking an engagement ring and GoPro to his friend Dave, who happened to be a Victorian police officer, and asking him to pull them over while on this leisurely Sunday drive.
But when Dave flagged them down, just as planned, Miss Cootee was seriously frustrated.
‘I said to Jarrah: “I’ve had four mid strength beers (in 45 minutes), do you think I’ll be over?” – she wasn’t impressed,’ Mr Advincula told Yahoo.

His friend asked the nervous 27-year-old to step out of the vehicle, handing him the ring at the same time
‘Dave walked up to me and said “G’day”… my heart was just going absolutely insane.’

Dave then asked 24-year-old Miss Cootee to follow suit.
It was at this point in the footage that the bride-to-be sees Mr Advincula on bended knee behind the truck – and she quickly catches on to what is happening.

‘It took her about two seconds to realise what was going on and then she just lost it.’
And, of course, she said yes.
Mr Advincula, overjoyed with her positive response, couldn’t wait to share the video with his family – and prefaced it by saying he had been ‘pulled over by the cops.’
Thinking he was going to jail, they were ‘s***ing themselves’ while watching the footage, but started ‘going insane’ when they saw Mr Advincula with the ring.
