Sam Kerr’s girlfriend Kristie Mewis touched down in Brisbane yesterday.

The American soccer player, 32, is in town to cheer on her girlfriend’s team as they play against Sweden in the Women’s World Cup on Saturday.

Kristie rolled into Brisbane Domestic Airport wearing a white Nike T-shirt and a loose-fitting casual jacket.

She completed her athleisure look with a pair of baggy black tracksuit pants, white Nike shoes and statement sunglasses worn on the top of her blonde hair.

While Sam herself was not there to greet her, Kristie was welcomed by some very cute members of the Kerr family.

Sam’s sister Madeline arrived with her nephews in tow, one of them wearing an adorable Matildas jersey with ‘Kerr’ on the back.

Kristie shared a sweet moment with the boys as they helped her with the luggage.

Mewis has been following her girlfriend around the country as the Matlidas compete in the Women’s World Cup.

Kerr and Mewis are the undisputed power couple of women’s football, with the pair amassing thousands of followers as their relationship has blossomed.

They spoke online for almost four months during the 2020 Covid lockdown before spending two weeks in quarantine together, where they quickly fell in love.

The pair continued their romance in the lead-up to the Olympics in 2021 where – following America’s defeat of Australia in the semi-finals – they were photographed together.

Their on-pitch embrace made headlines as Kerr’s break-up from her former longtime partner – another US club player Nikki Stanton – had not yet become public.

Their cross-global romance has since been heavily documented on social media with both women amassing hundreds of thousands of followers.

‘We’re not private people. I like sharing my story. I like sharing who I am outside of football. Football is 5 per cent of my life,’ Kerr told UK publication Gaffer earlier this year.
