Astros star Justin Verlander didn’t hold back from hitting out at Boston red Sox manager Alex Cora Tuesday night.
During Houston’s 7-3 win over the Red Sox, Verlander was overheard telling the Red Sox skipper to ‘f*** off’ as he came on to the field.
The Astros pitcher had been experiencing issues with his PitchCom device and held up the game as a new one was ferried over to him on the field.
Verlander’s issues caused what appeared to be a pitch clock violation dispute and he could be seen talking to an umpire, while an Astros teammate first brought him a first new PitchCom, which had to be changed again as it was in Spanish.
Cora, clearly becoming agitated by the delay, came out of the dugout to argue for an automatic ball.

The dispute didn’t affect the Houston pitcher, who went on to strike out a season-high nine
‘You shook him off five times,’ Cora could be heard saying as he walked out, while seemingly implying there was no real issue with the device.
And, Verlander did not take too kindly to the interruption from the Boston manager, saying: ‘I didn’t shake that at bat. F*** off, Alex.’
The night didn’t get much better for Cora, as he and right fielder Alex Verdugo were both ejected for arguing balls and strikes as the Red Sox lost a second straight game at Houston.
Verdugo was ejected in the top of the fourth by plate umpire Pat Hoberg, who also tossed Cora after the manager objected to the call of ball four to Alex Bregman in bottom of the seventh.
It was the second ejection in three games for Cora, who stood the plate and kicked dirt before yelling in Hoberg´s face after he was tossed.
Meanwhile, Verlander (9-6) allowed five hits and struck out a season-high nine in his fourth start since returning to the Astros in a trade with the Mets.
