Pregnant mother of three daughters SOBS with ‘disappointment’ at her gender reveal after discovering she’s having a FOURTH girl – sparking a furious debate about motherhood

A pregnant mom of three daughters burst into tears from ‘disappointment’ after discovering that her fourth child was a girl – adding that she desperately wanted to experience the bond between a mother and son.

Kendra Evans, from California, who has since given birth to her fourth child, was captured in a moment of pure sadness at her own gender reveal when she found out she was having yet another girl, prompting her to break down in tears.

The mom struggled to hide her frustration when she saw the hint of pink smoke that indicated she was having another daughter as she lamented about ‘why’ the family had to get ‘another girl.’

In a viral clip, which has now amassed more than 4.7 million views, shared to TikTok, the mom and her eldest daughter were seen crying and yelling at the thought of bringing another daughter into their world — with Kendra pleading with others to not judge her as she shared the realities of ‘gender disappointment.’

The video begins with Kendra, husband Christopher, and her three daughters — Bexley, Tymree, and Wrenley — standing around a Jack-O-Lantern filled with smoke.

When the smoke turned pink, Kendra hunched over and fell into a fit of tears as her eldest daughter yelled: ‘We get a girl? What? Why do we have to get a girl?’

Off-camera, someone can be heard shouting: ‘Girl gang all day.’

While meant to be positive, the comment prompted the mom to cry even more while Christopher attempted to console her by rubbing her back.

At the end of the clip, Kendra showed images of her family-of-six and shared that the family is happier than ever and couldn’t imagine their life without their fourth daughter, Nellie.

And it seems as though her other daughters also warmed up to the idea of having another sister as they could be seen embracing Nellie and smiling from ear-to-ear in each snap.

In the caption, she assured viewers that she was grateful for Nellie and loved her while asking them to be understanding of her reaction.

‘Gender disappointment is real so don’t judge us, little did we know our Nellie would complete our family and we couldn’t be happier to be raising our four daughters! Couldn’t imagine life without that sweet girl,’ she captioned the clip.

People flooded the comments, with many of them showing the mom grace and validating her feelings.

One person said: ‘Gender disappointment is so real and it doesn’t mean we don’t love our kids.’

Another user wrote: ‘I have three sons who I love more than life itself but gender disappointment is real and it’s ok.’

‘Gender disappointment is completely real! And simultaneously you’re feeling extreme guilt for feeling that way about your baby. Makes it doubly hard,’ a third person added.

Someone else wrote: ‘Totally feel you here — this is how I felt when I found out I was having another boy. All I’ve ever wanted was a girl, loving you, mama.’

And while many users rushed to her defense, others were quick to slam the mom-of-four for being disappointed.

People were divided in their feelings, with some parents claiming that they felt the same way while others told her she should be happy to have even one child

One person said: ‘Jeez… I was only able to have one baby (a boy). I would have given anything to have been able to have more. This makes me sad.’

Another user wrote: ‘Some people can’t even have kids.’

‘This is really sad and appalling. I came from a family of all girls and neither of my parents expressed anything but gratitude for their children,’ someone else added.

‘Don’t do that, your daughter will see this video someday,’ a fourth user said.

In an interview with People, the mom opened up about her disappointment and why she so badly wanted a boy, while asking people to understand her struggle.

She told the outlet: ‘When I got pregnant with my fourth baby, I knew it was my last and after already having three amazing daughters, it was only natural that I, of course, wanted a boy.

‘On top of that, all three of my pregnancies with my daughters were all the exact same, but with this last pregnancy everything was so different so in my head I swore it was a boy.’

Kendra explained that she didn’t even want to have a gender reveal at first because she didn’t want to be ‘disappointed in front of people’ if it wasn’t a boy, but ended up changing her mind because she didn’t want to have any ‘regrets.’

Although she went into the gender reveal knowing she needed to control her emotions, they ended up getting the best of her when she saw the pink smoke.

She revealed that she couldn’t help but think that she would never experience the love between a mother and son.

The mom-of-four told the outlet: ‘All of these thoughts came flooding, thoughts that I’ll never have a son, never be able to experience what it’s like to have a mother-son bond, to have a “mama’s boy,” or anything like that.’

As for her oldest daughter, Kendra explained that she had wanted a boy her entire life and wasn’t able to ‘mask her initial disappointment.’

She noted that she wanted others to be cognizant of her feelings, adding that gender disappointment should be normalized.

‘Our feelings are valid as humans and gender disappointment should be more normalized. You don’t know anyone’s situation or feelings, and just because somebody is initially disappointed doesn’t mean baby is not loved,’ the mom told People.

She added that she was so ‘lucky’ to have had her fourth daughter.
