Brave model Jade Power is back in lingerie just 14 months after her preventative double mastectomy

Just 14 months after her preventative double mastectomy, model Jade Power is back to her best – and in front of the camera.

In collaboration with the lingerie brand Bravissimo, Ms Power, 30, poses in pink underwear, hoping the photographs will show there is life after surgery and women can still feel attractive.

The model, who has a genetic risk of breast cancer, said: ‘This shoot is more meaningful than anything I’ve done before because it can hopefully inspire other women with the message that you can have a mastectomy and still feel good about yourself.’

Ms Power went for tests after her sister Donna was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. She was told she was a carrier of the rare genetic mutation PALB2, giving her a 71 per cent chance of developing the disease.

She underwent a double mastectomy in August 2022 and just last month had implants put in to restore her 34DD bust.

Ms Power, whose son is nearly two years old, added: ‘My breast reconstruction was a boob job I never wanted, and would not have contemplated. But… I have learned to love my new body because I know having had this mastectomy reduces my risk of cancer.’

She and her sister have joined workshops to support NHS breast care nurses and patients, and campaign under the slogan Not Just BRCA.

Under the campaign, she has teamed up with Bravissimo, which caters for women with larger breasts.

She is modelling its Millie Bra in Blush for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from which 10 per cent of sales will be donated to the charity CoppaFeel!
