Houston SPCA and Waller County deputies saved the lives of 40 dogs, six cats, two Quaker parrots and a parakeet from ‘deplorable’ conditions on Tuesday.
Rescuers removed nearly fifty animals from a home in Hockley, Texas.
Investigators said the house was so full of urine, feces, debris and stacks of crates that rescuers could not access the door and instead had to access the building through windows.

The organization described the conditions in the Hockley, Texas home as ‘deplorable’

The homeowner has not yet been named, but all the animals have been removed from the house
The sheriff’s department has issued a warrant for the homeowner, who they say does not live in the house.
Some of the animals had untreated medical issues. All of them were brought back to the SPCA for a full examination.
A court hearing for custody of the animals has been scheduled for November 21.
The organization said: ‘The animals are now resting comfortably on soft, clean beds with their own space to relax here at the Houston SPCA.’
