A woman has found what she claims was a live maggot crawling around inside a box of Aldi dark chocolate.
The shocked customer said she purchased the product from the Aldi store in Joondalup, northern Perth.
She filmed the very active creature crawling across the chocolate, and said she spotted it while cutting the dark chocolate with a knife.

‘I was cutting away until I saw a white thing moving against the dark chocolate, and yep it was a live maggot,’ she told Nine News.
‘I only saw it as it was against the dark chocolate. If it was white chocolate [it] would have been a different story.’
She said she found the rest of the chocolate packet was covered in a type of ‘webbing’.

The woman said she called Aldi on Monday and asked for a refund, having kept the chocolate and receipt.
An Aldi spokesperson said the creature was an Indian Meal Moth, not a maggot, and an investigation found it was an isolated incident.
Indian Meal Moths, also known as weevil moths, have larvae which leave silk threads in their path of travel.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Aldi for comment.
