A back-flipping daredevil almost got smashed into smithereens after he attempted to jump over a speeding supercar.
Red Bull Pro Tricking Athlete Bailey Payne was filmed in Wichita, Kansas attempting to jump over an Audi R8 on Wednesday, cartwheeling towards the vehicle in his white shirt and skinny black trousers.
Viewers soon realize, however, that the stuntman’s timing is off; making matters worse, he appears to fail to get enough momentum to lift himself over the vehicle.
The Audi can be seen clipping Payne’s backleg, sending his sneakers flying off his feet.
But miraculously, the 20-year-old manages to get up almost instantaneously, appearing to have escaped any major injury.
The video, which has been viewed more than 177,000 times, was reposted by Payne in slow motion for anyone who doubted if the stunt was real.
‘This one goes out to all the lovely people who said me getting hit by the car was fake. SLOMO clip to help your eyes see better,’ he wrote to Instagram.
Payne specializes in the growing discipline of ‘Tricking,’ which he describes on his website as a form of ‘gymnastics tumbling, break dancing and martial arts.’
