- The 57-year-old had attacked the woman at her home on April 12 last year
A man who sexually assaulted an elderly dementia sufferer in her own home was sentenced to nine years in jail.
Winston George was visiting the woman he launched the attack, which was stopped when a family member walked in and stopped him from leaving until police arrived at the scene.
The woman, who was unable to communicate to George that his advances were not wanted, has since died since the attack took place seven months ago.
The 57-year-old was sentenced today after a four day trial at Amersham Crown Court, despite denying penetrative sexual activity with a mentally disordered female.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: ‘On the afternoon of April 12 last year George visited the home address of the victim, a vulnerable elderly woman with dementia.

‘George had sexual activity with the victim. During the offence he was disturbed by a family member who called the police.
‘Winston was arrested at the scene and following an investigation was charged on 7 June this year.’
Detective Constable Kay Dickinson said: ‘This was a distressing case to deal with for all those involved. The victim was extremely vulnerable because she had dementia which rendered her unable to refuse sexual activity with Winston George.
‘Sadly, since the offence the victim has died but I am satisfied that justice has been done for her and her family.
‘I want to thank the victim’s family for their support, the witnesses who gave evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service for bringing the case to court and the jury who listened to all the evidence and delivered a unanimous guilty verdict.’
