Bale wrote: ‘An amazing manager and a top guy! Just want to say good luck for your future and a big thank you for the last few years #goodmemories’.

Wales drew 1-1 with Panama in an international friendly on Tuesday in Coleman’s 50th and last game charge.

The 47-year-old failed to qualify Wales for next year’s World Cup in Russia but has enjoyed successful times in charge of the national side.

COLEMAN’S WALES RECORD

Games: 50

Won: 19

Drew: 13

Lost: 18

Overall win percentage: 34

Achievements: Qualified for Euro 2016, led Wales to semi-final of Euro 2016, attained their highest ever FIFA ranking of 8th

He led them to the Euro’s in France in 2016, which was only the second major tournament they had qualified for and the first since the World Cup in 1958.

Bale starred for them in the competition, scoring three goals to fire Coleman’s side to their first ever semi-final, where they were eventually beaten by Portugal 2-0.

Coleman also led Wales, first, to their highest ever FIFA ranking of tenth, before improving on that record by pushing them up to eighth.

His achievements stand him alone as the most successful manager Wales have ever had but he also earned wide praise for nurturing one of the best talents they have ever produced as well in Bale.

Bale came to life for the national side under Coleman but has recently been blighted by reoccurring injuries, which caused him to miss his last game in charge against Panama.

The 28-year-old has also not played for Madrid since their Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund in September.

His future at the Spanish club has been called into questioned amid persistent injuries and interest from Manchester United.

Boss Jose Mourinho has been tracking the Wales star for some time and Sportsmail revealed this week they will make another move to lure him to Old Trafford in the summer and are not put off by his fitness troubles.
