He’s the popular television journalist who celebrated his 36th birthday on Sunday.

And to toast the happy occasion, his effusive mother posted a throwback photo to her Instagram the same day.

The adorable shot, which showed the 60 Minutes correspondent as a happy toddler, scored immediate praise from his wife, who is also a Nine Network personality.

‘Look at those curls Pete. Happy Birthday Pete darling. Love you heaps,’ wrote Jenny Stefanovic to son Peter, younger brother of Today host Karl Stefanovic.

‘What a cutie,’ noted Sylvia Jeffreys in the comments section, adding a heart-eye emoji.

Peter and Sylvia met after hosting Weekend Today and confirmed their relationship in 2014, while he was working in Europe as Channel Nine’s overseas correspondent.

Sylvia also took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate her husband’s birthday, with a shirtless snap of him scuba diving.

‘Happy birthday to my hunk of a husbo, who makes every day 11/10. Here’s to many more years as happy as the last [one],’ she gushed in the caption.

In an interview with News Corp last year, Sylvia listed her partner’s bond with his family, particularly his brothers, as one of the traits she loves about him.

‘They’re such fun guys. When they’re in their natural habitat – Karl’s garage – they’re so fun,’ she said.

‘They’re so in love with each other,’ she added.
