It comes after Joel hit back at being labelled a ‘lefty lunatic’ label.

The comedian, 33, was quizzed by The Australian on Monday, where he took umbrage with the tag.

‘People think that I’m a lefty lunatic. I don’t know if that’s because I was a host on The Project or because I campaigned for marriage equality,’ he said.

Far from being woke, Joel explained he intentionally doesn’t bring politics into his performances or his Nova radio show.

‘When you’re driving home and listening to my radio show, you don’t want to be lectured.’ he said/

‘My job is to make you laugh and to give you a little holiday from life’ Joel added.

He finished by saying he finds it silly when people call him a ‘lefty’, as he is apolitical in his views.

‘I do find it funny when people call me a lefty; I never share my political views because I’m too dumb to have any,’ he finished.
