Saturday’s clash between TCU and Georgetown went down to the wire as the Horned Frogs secured an upset win courtesy of a remarkable – and controversial – buzzer-beater.
Georgetown led 83-81 with just 2.7 seconds to go and TCU needing to get the ball in-bounds and score to tie or win the contest.
Somehow, TCU launched the ball over center court where forward Emanuel Miller dribbled toward the three-point line and arched the ball towards the hoop.
The buzzer sounded moments before Miller’s shot hit the backboard and went into the basket, winning the game for TCU and sparking wild celebrations among the visitors.
His teammates flooded on to the court in jubilation while the Washington DC crowd was stunned into silence.

More drama was to follow as replays showed Miller had stepped on the right sideline with his left foot just before releasing the ball.
Officials reviewed the play but because they missed Miller stepping out-of-bounds in real time, by rule they couldn’t overturn the shot.
Miller’s late-game heroics capped a 29-point performance. The senior also tallied five rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes of play.
In his fourth year with the Horned Frogs, Miller is averaging 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 51.6 per cent from the field.
TCU has made a good start this season – with this win, the Horned Frogs lead the Big 12 with a 7-0 record.
Over the past two seasons, the Horned Frogs appeared in the NCAA Tournament but made consecutive second-round exits. The program continues to improve after making a total of three appearances in the tournament since 1990.
TCU will look to extend its win streak when the team faces Clemson on December 9.
