Rebekah Vardy’s ex BLASTS her for seeking fame

Rebekah Vardy’s footballer ex Luke Foster has blasted her for demanding the finer things in life in a bid to achieve the lifestyle of Victoria Beckham and become ‘famous.’

The Coalville Town defender, 32, admitted that even though he was doing well for himself, it was difficult for him to keep up with the demands of the WAG who wanted the ‘picture perfect life’ – now leaving him ‘relieved that she’s off his hands.’

While their relationship started on a happy note, things eventually came ‘crumbling down’ when they moved in together, before Rebekah moved on with her now-husband, Leicester City ace, Jamie Vardy, 30.

Defiant in his stance ahead of Rebehak’s arrival in the jungle ahead in grisly ITV series I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on Sunday, fronted by presenting duo Ant and Dec, Luke recalled his less than fond moments with her to The Mirror.

The athlete looked back at her desire for fame – claiming that she was frequently found reading celebrity magazines and was obsessed with Spice Girl Victoria and Coleen Rooney.

For Rebekah an interest in a lavish lifestyle developed: ‘Becky liked the finer things in life. She wanted the biggest house on the street, expensive handbags. She drove my Merc, I had a Picasso. She wouldn’t even let me drive my own car.’

He continued to please her by living out of their means, taking out an ‘extortionate’ mortgage on a townhouse in Northampton and getting ‘another credit card.’ However, she was still not impressed.

Luke, who is now a self-employed sports management consultant, continued: ‘Becky was finding it a struggle. We weren’t doing that badly, in my mind – living in a five-bed house, driving around in a Mercedes.’

Rebebah has now been married to Jamie Vardy – who earns £80,000-a-week – for over a year.

‘She’s now got the husband she always wanted, one who can keep her in the lifestyle she’s dreamt of. Becky upgraded. She said that to my face. She said he’d treat her a hell of a lot better,’ Luke admitted.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Rebekah for further comment.

Luke’s interview comes after Rebekah revealed how she divorced her cheating second husband Steve Clarke while he was in jail for killing two people in a car crash.

Speaking candidly about the break up, the mother-of-four described how she was ‘lucky to get out’ when she did.

Opening up about her past, she spoke of her three marriages and heartache she experienced when she was made homeless at the age of 15 after falling out with family.

Her first husband was Mark Godden who she said was a kind man but she didn’t love him.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘I know marrying three times makes me sound like Zsa Zsa Gabor, but after a difficult childhood I made some stupid mistakes and went out with some real-life snakes!’

The mother described being so ‘broken’ after falling out with her family that she drank constantly to numb the pain and moved into a B&B with an abusive landlord in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Becky said: ‘Mark took care of me and his family took me in. I felt like I should marry him when he asked me but quickly realised I didn’t love him that way, so I left.

‘I felt awful as he was a good man. We divorced. I’m sorry if I ever hurt him, but I was broken.’

Mrs Vardy then began dating Steve Clarke, her boss at a timeshare company.

She said: ‘That quickly became a horrible relationship — I was scared of him. He’d tell me what to do, where to be and how to act.

‘I’d had a night with Peter Andre at the end of my first marriage and stupidly told him. He wanted the money so made me go public with my story. I felt awful.’

They had an on-off relationship and wed when she was 23 and eight months pregnant by another man.

Weeks later, she had eldest daughter Megan, now 12. Becky said: ‘As soon as she was born he made us move abroad. He claimed he owed money and wanted us to run away to Cyprus. It went downhill from there. He became violent towards me. He cheated, he lied. It lasted ten months before I escaped back to the UK with my baby after he cheated on me.’

Weeks later Clarke was sentenced to two years’ jail after his conviction for causing death by reckless driving in a head-on crash which killed a dad and grandad.

Mrs Vardy went on to have son Taylor, six, with footballer Luke Foster before meeting Jamie, 30, who she married in May last year.

Steve Clarke, 52, told The Sun he was always a good husband and never cheated on her or hurt her.

He said he was devastated two people died in what he called ‘a terrible accident.’
