Police have launched an appeal after a three-year-old boy was found wandering the streets of Belfast alone in just his Peppa Pig onesie.
The boy was found by police on Manor Street in the Northern Irish capital.
A tweet posted by the Police Service of Northern Ireland read: ‘Folks we have found a 3 yr old boy in a green peppa pig onesy in Manor St Belfast, if you know this boy phone 101 immediately a Thx PL.’
Jade Fee, who found the boy, posted on Twitter that she saw the boy on Manor Street when he waved at her.
She said that the young boy was nearly hit as he tried to cross the road to her.
Ms Fee added: ‘I had to stop the car with my hand and I took the we boys hand.
‘I asked him were he lived and where his mummy was and he wasn’t able to tell me so I took him to my dads and phoned the police.’
The boy was found on Manor Street in the Northern Irish capital and police are desperately trying to find his parents.
In a message posted to Twitter, Sgt W from nearby Tennent Street Police Station.
‘A resident of Lower Oldpark found a small missing boy in the street. He is believed to be around three to four years old with blond hair, wearing a green Peppa Pig onesie with no socks or footwear.
‘At this stage the child is with my LPT colleagues at Tennent Street Police Station and he is safe and well.
‘Unfortunately the little boy hasn’t been able to talk to us so he can’t tell us his name or other information.’
The young boy was taken into police care at 5.44pm. He remains at the police station in the Northern Irish capital although his parents have been identified.
No photo or other description about the boy has been released.
At 6.57pm, Northern Irish Police tweeted: ‘Folks thanks so much for your help, we are super pleased that our lost boy has been reunited with his family, #PSNICMC #KeepingPeopleSafe PL.’
