Former England footballer Trevor Sinclair has been summonsed to appear in court on charges including assaulting a police officer.
The 44-year-old, who lives in Lytham, had been summonsed for alleged offences of driving while unfit through drink, assault on a police officer, racially aggravated public order, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, criminal damage and disorderly conduct in a police station.
Sinclair, who played 12 times for England including at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on December 19.

Sinclair allegedly left his home in Lytham on Sunday November 12 in his £60,000 Tesla X60d sports car but the vehicle collided with a female pedestrian on a nearby street.
The woman suffered minor injuries and Sinclair was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving, common assault and criminal damage.
Sinclair was also arrested on suspicion of assault and a separate criminal damage matter but police said he will face no further action in respect of those matters.

Sinclair’s professional football career spans 19 years where he played for Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United, Manchester City, Blackpool FC and Cardiff City.
He retired in 2008.
In recent years, Sinclair has worked as a television pundit, primarily for the BBC on Final Score and Match of the Day.
