Emily Blunt reveals Cillian Murphy got his head glued while filming Oppenheimer as they promote biopic with Robert Downey Jr on talk show

Cillian Murphy confirmed that he got his head glued while filming Oppenheimer as he promoted the biopic with Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr.  on Thursday on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC.

The 47-year-old Irish actor, who portrays theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, and British actress Emily, who looked lovely in a black polka dot dress, revealed they had modest accommodations while filming the movie directed by Christopher Nolan, 53.

Robert, 58, said he flew in on a private jet and stayed at the Inn of the Five Graces in Santa Fe, New Mexico, while Emily and Cillian meanwhile were staying at a Holiday Inn Express.

Cillian pointed out that director Christopher and his producer wife Emma Thomas, 52, also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.

‘Cillian, you’re so protective. Such a good soldier,’ Emily said after Cillian stuck up for Christopher who has directed him in six movies.

Emily, who turned 42 on Friday, was gifted a present by Jimmy and Cillian joked that he got her a ‘voucher for the Holiday Inn Express.’

Jimmy asked if they exchanged gifts on the movie and Emily said she likes to do a starting present and a wrap gift.

‘She got me a very nice pillow,’ Cillian said.

Emily said she felt Cillian needed more sleep than he was getting with the Holiday Express pillows.

‘So I got him this very beautiful pillow that I’m obsessed with these pillows. It’s a Hastens pillow,’ Emily said.

Emily then shared that Cillian was ‘really luxuriating’ in the designer pillow and told her the next day that he flipped the pillow to the ‘cool side’ and misjudged where it was and ‘smashed his head open on the bedside table.’

‘They had to glue his head shut,’ Emily said.

‘They glued your head shut?,’ Jimmy asked.

‘Yeah, Luisa Abel, our amazing makeup designer,’ Cillian confirmed.

‘I heard she’s one of the best head gluers in the business,’ Jimmy quipped.

Cillian admitted he was a ‘bit shocked’ because he was having a ‘great sleep’ and called Luisa for help.

‘I just came in, she glued my head and covered it up and you don’t see it in the movie, I think,’ Cillian said.
