Chelsea defender Gary Cahill tries a rabona at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah was on the scoresheet again but his latest goal in a stunning debut season for Liverpool was not enough to see off Chelsea on Saturday.

Willian came off the bench to earn the Blues a draw in an even encounter, leaving both teams at least eight points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.

There was plenty of other action at Anfield and Sportmail’s Robert Summerscales has rounded up six things you may have missed…

Cahill’s rabona

Chelsea centre back Gary Cahill is one of England’s finest defenders but he certainly isn’t flash.

Therefore, it was a little surprising to see him attempt a rabona cross midway through the half. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t execute it very well.

Ref stacks its

Referee Michael Oliver had a quiet game at Anfield where he didn’t produce a single yellow card.

The fans seemed appreciative of his performance too. Well, at least they appeared to enjoy it when he fell over.

Twitter was full of Chelsea supporters comparing Oliver’s fall to Steven Gerrard’s famous slip.

Subdued Salah reaches double figures

By scoring the opener, Salah became the first Premier League player to reach the 10-goal mark this season.

He is just the second man to score 10 goals in his first 13 PL appearances for the Reds — after Daniel Sturridge — and is the first Liverpool player to net 15 goals across all competitions in a season since Luis Suarez and Sturridge in 2013-14.

Salah was deliberately subdued after finding the net as he refused to celebrate against his former club.

Lucky Courtois

Liverpool were almost gifted the lead before Salah earned it.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was lucky not to score an own goal when he flapped at a Sturridge cross, only to push the ball towards his net, rather than away from it.

Fortunately for Courtois, the ball squirmed just wide for a corner.

Dependable Dave

Cesar Azpilicueta started his 74th consecutive Premier League game for Chelsea.

The depenable defender, nicknamed Dave by Blues fans, has been an ever-present since Antonio Conte has been in charge.

Streaky Willian

Willian’s equaliser off the bench means the Brazilian has scored three goals in his last 56 minutes of action for Chelsea.

He had only netted once in his previous 14 hours and 12 minutes of football.
