Looking for some holiday inspiration this summer? You could do worse than lust after Australian supermodel, Elle Macpherson’s, beautiful New Zealand getaway.
The 53-year-old, nicknamed The Body, has been enjoying some downtime in The Bay of Islands for the past week, where she has been staying on Russell Island and soaking up the beautiful scenery, activities and food New Zealand has to offer.
FEMAIL takes a look inside her super luxe Kiwi getaway, from the boutique lodge where the model has been relaxing and Instagramming, to the popular restaurant she reportedly liked so much she came back to three times.
Prepare to feel a little jealous…

While you might expect a supermodel of Elle’s credentials to stay in New Zealand’s ‘ultimate luxury retreat’, Eagle’s Nest, the 53-year-old has in fact been vacationing in the slightly lesser known – but equally beautiful – Tahapuke Lodge (pictured)

The model – who is kept busy with her countless businesses and modelling profile – is most likely in need of some downtime (pictured vacationing, not in New Zealand)

While it seems a million miles away, in fact it is just a short five minute walk to Russell Wharf.
‘End of day magic,’ Elle captioned one of her stunning vista photos on Instagram – later posting again with a ‘Walk by the Water’ close to the newly re-furbished Duke of Marlborough Hotel.
The property Elle was staying in boasts three double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fully open kitchen, dining room and living room and unrivalled views over Matauwhi Bay.

But it isn’t only chilling out, swims and walks the lingerie model and businesswoman has been enjoying – she has also been enjoying the cuisine the Bay of Islands has to offer (pictured: the interior of The Gables)
The Gables on Russell Wharf (pictured) has been one of Elle’s favourites – the Gables manager, Paul Graham, told FEMAIL ‘she must have liked it because she came back three times with friends for lunch and dinner’
The Gables (pictured) itself is extremely famous in the Bay of Islands, principally because it is the country’s oldest operating restaurant, built from pit-sawn Kauri in 1847 on whalebone foundations

Elle has also been sampling what the Bay of Islands has to offer on a culinary level.
There seems to be one place she enjoys above all – The Gables restaurant – on Russell Wharf.
The Gables manager, Paul Graham, told FEMAIL ‘she must have liked it because she came back three times with friends for lunch and dinner’, even though he wouldn’t let on to what the model ordered.
Mr Graham wouldn’t let on what the model ordered, but the menu does feature beef (pictured), as well as fish – which would chime well with Elle’s alkaline diet

Current menus boast things like oven-roasted hapuka for NZ $37 (AUD $33.50) for dinner and chargrilled steak with café de paris butter for NZ $25 (AUD $22.50) for lunch on the menu right now.
Guests who are in the mood for sharing can also split a whole snapper between two people for NZ $70 (AUD $63.20) – which Elle is sure to like thanks to her being on the alkaline diet – or a whole rib of beef for NZ $68 (AUD $61.50).
Just three hours ago, Elle posted on Instagram from Aotearoa, where she seems to have moved for the last leg of her holiday. It remains to be seen where she is staying.

Elle recently opened up about how the alkaline diet changed her life, confessing that after she was put on the diet by her nutritional doctor, everything started to change

After Elle started the alkaline diet, she said in just two weeks she was feeling more balanced than ever, full of renewed energy, glowing skin, and without a craving for sugar
Elle swapped red meat with fresh fish and began piling more greens like kale, spinach, and rocket onto her plate during meals, pairing it with lentils or quinoa (pictured: the Bay of Islands at sunset)

‘Being healthy on the inside also shows on the outside. My eyes and skin are clearer, my hair and nails are stronger,’ she wrote for Get the Gloss at the time.
