Carrie Bickmore reveals her ‘insane’ marathon goal as she trains for gruelling race: ‘This is out of my comfort zone’

Carrie Bickmore has revealed she will be running the Great Wall of China.

The former Project star, 43, shared the news to her Instagram page on Monday and explained she has been training for the challenging marathon.

‘I am running the Great Wall of China. A few months ago I was feeling a little blah and needed something to train towards, so I signed up to run (or crawl) along the Great Wall of China half marathon. (21KMS),’ she said.

‘The clock is ticking and it’s now just 4 weeks away. Yes I’m insane. But sometimes you just gotta say yes first then think of the all the reasons why not to, once it’s too late to pull out.’

Carrie said she likes the idea ‘of pushing herself out of her comfort zone’ and is excited to run the marathon.

‘I am ok if I try it and don’t succeed. I’ll just try again. Plus I feel very lucky that my body in its current state allows me to. So, BECAUSE I CAN, I WILL,’ she added.

Carrie ended: ‘Set yourself a challenge, even if it’s to learn to run 5K, it’ll give you something to work towards.’

It comes after Carrie revealed how she always maintains her slender and very fit physique.

Posting to her stories last month, the Hit FM drive-time star shared a video and a gallery of pictures which featured her workout routine – running and swimming.

Carrie boasted she recently managed to complete a 50-minute run.

Sharing a playful selfie, Carrie was seen lying on her back in grass and poking her tongue out after completing a tough workout.

The mother-of-two explained she was using Jorja Smith’s hit tune Little Things as exercise music.

‘This song got me through 50 minutes running, ‘ Carrie said in caption.

She added: ‘The longest [run] I’ve done in a long, long time…new year, same slow runner.’

Adding a second photo in the story, Carrie then offered some fitness advice.

‘Honestly start with [a] 5mins [run], then 10, then 15…I could never run, just don’t worry how slow you are,’ she shared.
