Coronation Street’s Gemma Winter-Brown was collared by a security guard after stealing from a shop while filming upcoming scenes on Tuesday.
The mother-of-five, played by Dolly-Rose Campbell, slipped a pair of children’s shoes underneath her coat before making a swift exit.
But after running out of the door she was caught by a waiting security guard who ushered her back inside.
Gemma and her husband Chesney have been going through a difficult time after his son Joseph was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
She was previously removed from the house by social services under suspicion of deliberately poisoning the youngster.

While the new stores are being built, hoardings will be seen on the programme until it is finished.
John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama, and Head of ITV in the North, said: ‘It’ll be the talk of The Street what’s going on behind those hoardings, I’m sure.’
