Kyle Sandilands backtracks on his promise to take Ozempic despite getting a prescription – and here is the stunning reason why

Kyle Sandilands has reneged on his promise to take Ozempic, just one day after announcing he would take the weight loss drug live on-air during Thursday’s show. 

Discussing his pledge on The Kyle And Jackie O Show, the shock jock, 52, said his plans had changed – for a very surprising reason. 

‘I’ve changed my mind because I don’t want to,’ he declared, adding: ‘I’m not here to pander to the thin.’ 

Ozempic which is typically used to treat type II diabetes, has seen an increase in prescriptions for obesity in recent years and is currently used by many celebrities to keep a trim figure.

During Wednesday’s show, Kyle was forced to deny he’d been secretly taking the drug after fans noticed how he’d lost a significant amount of weight in recent weeks. 

Kyle shut down claims he’s taking the appetite suppressant, but admitted he is open to trying the weight loss drug.

‘I asked the doctor will that Ozempic thing work for me because contrary to popular belief, I don’t sit at home chewing food all day. I don’t actually eat much,’ he said.

‘My problem is white bread and 15 lattes a day.’

‘I’ve changed my mind because I don’t want to. I’m not here to pander to the thin,’ he said on Thursday’s Kyle And Jackie O Show

Kyle then asked his co-host Jackie O Henderson how she lost a spectacular 18kg.

‘What I did was I started exercising and I cut out alcohol which was a big one for me but no I didn’t take any of that,’ she explained.

Kyle then agreed to try the drug during Thursday’s live broadcast of the show.

It wasn’t the first time the radio jock has denied using Ozempic.

In January, Kyle shot down claims he’s taking the appetite suppressant after his own newsreader Brooklyn Ross questioned him.

‘My mum asked me if you’re on Ozempic, Kyle,’ the producer said on live radio, prompting a laugh from Kyle.

Showing a picture of the media personality looking very slimmed down just weeks apart, Kyle said: ‘It’s just a good angle of me.’

When that wasn’t convincing enough, he added: ‘Maybe I’ve stopped eating as much bread and drinking Coca Cola.’

Jackie quickly jumped to her colleague’s defence, saying: ‘You always come back from the [Christmas] break a little bit skinnier because you’ve been healthier, by the sun, you’re less into the twelve coffees.’

‘And my wife – I go, “Can you bring me a chocolate paddle pop?” and a salad shows up,’ Kyle said.

‘And I get angry… but I just eat it anyway because it’s been given to me.’
