The Victoria’s Secret Angels will show off their impossibly toned physiques Tuesday night when the brand’s annual fashion show airs on CBS.
To get their bodies in tip-top shape for the show, which was filmed in Shanghai last week, models like Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima and Stella Maxwell spent weeks working out with top trainers, consuming a healthy, high-protein diet and indulging in pricey spa treatments.
A favorite treatment of Victoria’s Secret models is the Infrared Slimming and Detoxifying Wrap found at New York City’s Daphne spa. One 60-minute session, which consists of lying in a heated blanket, can burn up to 3,000 calories, reduce cellulite and the appearance of stretch marks and improve skin texture.
Yes, even lingerie models deal with cellulite and stretch marks.
They didn’t wake up like that: Models prepared for the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with strict diets, grueling workouts and pricey spa treatments
The secret’s out: To beat bloat and to reduce cellulite before the show, models (Alessandra Ambrosio, 36, is pictured here) are known to book a slimming body wrap at Daphne spa in NYC
I didn’t have a fashion show to prepare for, but after an indulgent few weeks of birthday celebrations and Friendsgiving feasts, I was in need of a quick detox, so I booked an appointment for the Angel-approved wrap.
After stripping down and lying on a massage table at the charming downtown studio, my aesthetician slathered my body with essential oil-spiked creams that boost circulation, reduce cellulite and help flush out toxins.
I was then swaddled from my shoulders down to my toes in layers of plastic wrap, a sheet and finally the heated blanket. For the next 45 minutes all I had to do was lie there and sweat.
It was relaxing at first. With no phone to distract myself with, I allowed my mind to wander and I eventually dozed off. Around the 30-minute mark when I began to sweat profusely and feel claustrophobic, however, I couldn’t take my eyes off the ticking clock. Anticipating my discomfort, my aesthetician swooped in with a glass of cold water and offered up a calming head massage.
Quick-fix: The treatment burns up to 3,000 calories and improves the texture of skin, so it’s no wonder models (pictured: Martha Hunt, 28, and Stella Maxwell, 27) love it

‘Let’s see how much you sweat!’ my aesthetician said while freeing me from the hot, now perspiration-soaked layers when time was up.
Because the sheet absorbed most of my sweat, I didn’t feel sticky and wet, which is a good thing because I was instructed not to shower until the next morning. The aesthetician explained that the creams continue to work for several hours after the treatment, so I wouldn’t want to wash them off just yet.
The next day when I woke up, I felt lighter and energized. My bloat was gone and my skin looked firmer and brighter and felt smooth.
The treatment, which costs $195 a session, isn’t a substitute for exercising and eating right, but it’s just the thing to help your body get back on track after a string of holiday parties or to give your body a boost before a special occasion like a wedding…or a major fashion show.
