Love Island’s Davide Sanclimenti admits he’s ‘heartbroken’ and ‘reflecting on his life’ after flying to Peru to help orphaned children on charity expedition

The current season of Love Island is currently in full swing.

Yet Davide Sanclimenti has had his mind on bigger matters this week after jetting to Peru to do charity work.

The reality star, 29, has been working with the charity Association de las Bienaventuranzas in Lima, which helps the poor and vulnerable.

Speaking to MailOnline about his travels, Davide shared: ‘I love travelling and I’ve never been to Peru before it’s beautiful here.

‘I’m now on a tour with the charity which is basically a welcome space for those who have nothing, literally for people who may feel abandoned or alone.’

He continued: ‘It has broken my heart to see innocent orphan children like this,

‘I went shopping yesterday with my charity co-worker Iris who is a philanthropist and we purchased: clothes, toys, shoes and things that will bring a smile to children’s faces’

‘I’ve realised we have been so blessed in our lives and I wanted to give back and help those in difficult times’

‘I’ve had so much fun, laughing, joking, playing games and giving toys to the children of this charity, it has really made me reflect on my own life and the things we take for granted.’

Admitting his eyes had been opened by the travel, Davide also documented his trip on Instagram, sharing snaps from his time abroad.

He captioned the images: ‘We’re so blessed in life that we often take things for granted. I love children and wanted to give back by helping those in need.

‘Being able to give is a blessing. What a humbling experience. It’s so fulfilling. I don’t want a clap just a reminder to give when you can

‘Traveling is fun with friends, but it’s even better with a purpose. Go where you can make a difference ❤️.’

It’s a stark contrast to where Davide was this time two years ago when he was appearing on ITV2’s Love Island.

He was crowned the winner of the 2022 series with Ekin-Su Culculoglu after fans fell in love with their turbulent love story.

The former pair then split in June 2023 but reconciled just two months later before calling it quits for good this year.

Davide is currently believed to be single and is enjoying his time doing charity work.
