A man is fighting for life after he was shot in the lower torso by police in Queensland.
Cops were called to a residence in Caboolture, north of Brisbane, about 10.30am on Wednesday.
When they arrived there were a number of people at the property including a man armed with a knife.
An officer discharged his weapon injuring the knife-wielding man in the abdomen.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics rushed the man to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The area has been cordoned off as a police investigation remains ongoing
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been released.
A police presence remains at the property, which is in what appears to be a recent residential subdivision.
