Little Bay, Sydney: Body is discovered at a popular beach

A marine and land search is under way after a body was discovered at a popular beach.

A ‘concern for welfare’ call was received by emergency services at Little Beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs about 11am on Sunday, a police spokesperson said.

A number of items were found on rocks in the area by police. 

‘A short time later, a body was found near the rocks. The person is yet to be formally identified. No further details are known at this stage,’ they said.

Police are yet to divulge what items had been found.

The area is currently being searched by police Marine Area Command, with a helicopter also joining.
