Max Verstappen sensationally collided with Lewis Hamilton in the closing stages of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Verstappen had attempted to overtake Hamilton but ended up clipping the Mercedes driver’s car and went flying through the air.
After going off the track, Verstappen lost momentum towards the end of the race, with his hopes of a third placed finish evaporating.
Oscar Piastri won the race in Hungary, with Verstappen finishing in fifth place. Lando Norris came second ahead of Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
Verstappen had cut a frustrated figure throughout the race.

The Dutchman was fuming throughout the race and was critical of Red Bull’s strategy
Verstappen was placed under investigation by the stewards as a result of the collision with Hamilton.
The Dutchman had earlier expressed his anger with Red Bull’s ‘s*** strategy’ during the race.
Prior to the incident, Verstappen was heard saying on the team radio: ‘No mate don’t give me that s***. You guys gave me this s*** strategy, ok? I’m trying to rescue what’s left. ****’.
It was a frustrating day for Verstappen, who was angry with Red Bull’s approach to the race
Verstappen was instructed not to use his tyres too heavily but he elected to ignore those commands.
The 26-year-old had finished in second place at the British Grand Prix and in fifth place in Austria. He has won seven races this season.
