McDonald and Burger King have released new cheesy bites

When it comes to snacks, cheese is always a popular choice.

And it seems fast food giants – and fierce rivals – McDonald’s and Burger King had this very idea in mind when they whipped up their latest calorie-laden treats.

For McDonald’s, that is a limited-edition release called the Cheddar Potato Bites, which is currently only available in Japan, while for Burger King’s newest menu item is the Flamin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheetos – which, luckily for American fast food fans, are available in the US.

And while both have their own unique recipe, texture and flavor, both snacks have a couple of key things in common – lots of cheese, and even more calories.

Comprised of mashed potato and fried cheese, McDonald’s bite sized treats are part of an American series that proved so popular the first time it launched, it was brought back with some new additions.

The American inspired menu also includes The Deluxe Cheese Beef, The Deluxe Cheese Chicken and The Deluxe Cheese Muffin, the latter only available on mornings.

However, all is not lost for Stateside residents desperately yearning for a bite sized cheese filled fix, as Burger King has created its own cheesy snack.

Featuring molten hot mac n’ cheese, Burger King’s offering is covered in a crumb of spicy Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Named Flamin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheetos, the launch of the new menu items follows the success of Mac n’ Cheetos, a previous creation which was introduced for a limited time only in June 2016.

The Flamin’ Hot Mac n’ Cheetos come in an order of five pieces, at the recommended price of $2.69.

However, not everyone is excited about the launch, with many people taking to social media to voice their concern about how the cheesy bites taste.

Commenting on a photo posted on the official Burger King Instagram, user meko_gamer wrote, ‘Eww I wanna puke’.

While slimhacking typed: ‘Flamin hot Cheetos is not hot lmao’.

And jtabor1976 said: ‘Nastiest thing to ever come from a fast food place.’

However, acro_girl04 vouched for the flavor combo, writing, ‘I’m eating them em and there delicious!’

A sentiment shared by @kiim_____ who wrote, ‘omg! My two favorite things in one. I don’t even wanna know how bad this is for me lol’.
