Supermarket giant Aldi’s weekly ‘special buys’ have seen frenzied shoppers flock to stores across the country throughout 2017.

And now, this year’s top bizarre bargains from the German chain have been announced, with some surprising results.

From humble Tupperware containers and water bottles through to heavy duty titanium saws, there’s been plenty of standout limited-edition products to snap up.

The retail giant recently opened their 500th store in Australia and have a dedicated team of ‘buying directors’ whose job it is to pick the range of products.

‘It brings people into the store. They will come in and buy all of their normal grocery items, and might come out with some unexpected things as well,’ Aldi Australia chief executive Tom Daunt told News.com.au.
